Speaking in simple language, orthotics are shoe inserts for providing arch supports and correcting biomechanical abnormalities of a foot. However, custom orthotics are not that simple.  Custom 0rthotics are orthopedic devices made to: treat or adjust abnormal foot motion; provide support, stability, and control. They will increase an individual's balance, help to absorb shock, and relieve pressure on uncomfortable or sore spots. It is important to remember that your feet are the foundation of your body. The orthotic is rarely the singular fix and most commonly core and hip stability are a large part of the healing equation.
